May Day

DC, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

The Trump regime and its billionaire allies are gutting union jobs in the DC region. They are hunting and killing people in the streets, stripping away our rights, overturning our laws, desecrating our public lands, and working overtime to entrench their own power.

Now, our elections are on the horizon. If we don’t take the reins this regime will move their intimidation from the streets to the polls. It’s time to make it clear we won’t accept anything less than elections that are free and fair, and results that are respected.

On Friday, May 1, 2026, DC refuses to cooperate. Join the Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO and partners across labor and community for a solidarity march and action. Meet at the Washington Monument at noon for a 1-mile march before ending with a rally led by immigrant workers.

Together we’ll make it clear that DC’s workers, our communities, and our political power are worth fighting for — and anyone who comes for those will have to come through us.

Labor Seder 2026

Each spring, the Jews United for Justice community comes together to retell the story of Passover and take action on issues in our region. Passover reminds us that our generation, like all generations, has an urgent responsibility to work toward collective liberation right now.

This year, the Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO will join JUFJ for “Until All Of Us Are Free,” one of two simultaneous seders about democracy in Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC. Tickets for the seders are $36 or pay-what-you-can. Sponsorships start at $180 and include two or more tickets to the seder of your choice.
