Hotel workers in Northern Virginia rallied on Thursday, calling for better wages and saying they are struggling to get by. About 550 union hotel workers in Northern Virginia are represented by UNITE HERE Local 25. Hotel workers in DC recently won a new contract that will increase wages from $26/hour to $33/hour by 2028. Apple store workers in Bethesda file for union election

Workers at an Apple store in Bethesda, MD filed a union election petition with NLRB on October 10 as organizing continues at the tech giant’s locations. Over 70% of the 59 employees working in retail, repair, and other roles at the Bethesda Row Apple store have signed union cards and will be represented by the Communications Workers of America, the union announced. Maryland state workers push Gov. Moore to spend more on workers, facilities

Two years into Gov. Wes Moore’s administration, which promised to bring back thousands of government jobs, the union for Maryland’s state employees is warning that their patience is running out.
