On Friday night, the Senate passed the Social Security Fairness Act and on Sunday President Biden signed it into law. The bill rights a 40-year-old wrong for America’s teachers, firefighters, police officers, postal workers, and so many other public sector workers who make our country run by putting an end to the Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset. IKEA workers in Perryville, Md., remain on strike
Approximately 320 members of the IAM Local I460, District 4, working at the IKEA Distribution Center in Perryville, Md., remain on strike for a fair contract after rejecting the company’s latest proposal on December 27.

With strike looming, longshoremen and management return to negotiations
With just over a week to go before thousands of longshoremen at ports on the East and Gulf coasts are due to go on strike, negotiations aimed at settling the long-running contract dispute are set to resume Tuesday. The International Longshoremen’s Association and the U.S. Maritime Alliance have agreed on money issues, but work rule negotiations remain unsettled. Read more »
